Think of it as operational assurance — you run the software, and we make sure you're never stuck alone when something goes wrong.
No. You can run Zabbix in production without any subscription. Thousands of organizations do. A subscription becomes valuable when your monitoring is business-critical and you need guaranteed response times, expert help, and long-term maintenance commitments. If a 4-hour outage would cost your business more than a subscription, it's probably time to talk to us.
Pricing is based on your support coverage requirements, not on how many devices or metrics you monitor. The key factors are: which subscription you choose, how many Zabbix servers and proxies need to be covered (unlimited on Enterprise and Global), whether you need 8x5 or 24x7 availability, and how many team members need direct support access. Request a quote and we'll scope it to your environment within one business day.
Yes. If your needs grow — for example, you add distributed proxies, need 24x7 coverage, or want faster response SLAs — you can upgrade at any time. We'll prorate the difference for the remaining term. Contact your Customer Success Manager or reach out to sales to adjust your plan.
No. Zabbix is open-source software and will continue to operate normally regardless of your subscription status. What you lose is access to the support ticketing system, response-time guarantees, security patch commitments, and expert services. Your monitoring keeps running — but you're on your own for troubleshooting and maintenance.
If your subscription needs to cover more than one legal entity — such as subsidiaries, branches, or parent companies — you'll need the Global subscription. All other subscriptions are scoped to a single legal entity. Global also includes unlimited server and proxy coverage, 24x7 support with a 1-hour emergency response, and up to 20 support contacts, which makes it practical for distributed multinational businesses.
